Bioclimatic air coolers work by passing air through a soaked pad. As the water in the pad evaporates it causes a cooling effect rather like when you wet your finger then blow on it and it feels cold.

Our Review: These evaporative air coolers may not have quite the cooling capacity of a refrigerative air conditioner but they are just so easy to use anywhere in the home.  There is no elephant trunk to worry about and we thought it was lovely still being able to have doors and windows open whilst enjoying cool air.  The electricity consumption is so low it doesn't matter if you have it on all day and night and great from an environmental point of view.  We would recommend these for bedroom use, as there is no noisy compressor just the gentle hum of a fan! (for a large area think about the Mastercool which works the same, just more powerful)
