Originally made from sweet chestnut and willow they were loved for their beauty and lasted for many years.
The last few years have seen a new style of trug appear. Made from plywood from sustainable sources, they are just as beautiful in their own way.
Each trug is hand made in the countryside of Herstmonceux, East Sussex from where the traditional trugs used to be made.
